People also consume the leaves even if they feel healthy because of Andrographis’s immune-boosting ability. It also promotes appetite and digestion. Moreover, because of the tropical climate of South Asia, people tend to consume Andrographis to bear the harsh season, as it is helpful in temperature regulation.

However, there are a few things that one should take note of before deciding to ingest Andrographis. A person with any autoimmune disease can greatly suffer upon using this herb. This is because of its specific effect on the immune response. Moreover, the consumption of large amounts of the plant can also lead to hypotension and blood clotting, which can be extremely serious.

Andrographis is a plant that could potentially carry numerous health benefits. But you should only use it after consulting a doctor.
